… June 4th, 2009, marked the 20th anniversary of the military crackdown on student protesters gathered in Tiananmen Square in Beijing, China. Beginning in April of 1989, thousands of students and other citizens started gathering in groups large and small, protesting many issues, centered on a desire for freedom and democratic reform. By mid-May of 1989, hundreds of thousands of protesters occupied the square, staging hunger strikes, and asking for dialogue. Chinese authorities responded with a declaration of martial law, and sent soldiers and tanks from the People’s Liberation Army, preparing to disperse the crowds. Late on June 3rd, 1989, the tanks and armored personnel carriers rolled into the square, killing and wounding many, mostly civilians - estimates vary widely, from several hundred to several thousand dead…
As you may know, I’ve always had an interest in photography. Though over the years, I only see or appreciate photos taken by someone. I seldom take the chance to shot some photos myself. One of the reasons is that the photography gear is quite expensive and I can’t afford it. Another reason is that DSLR cameras are bulky and inconvenient to bring along. That’s why I bought the DMC-LX3.
DMC-LX3 is really a nice compact digital camera, although it really can’t compare with the quality of photos taken by a DSLR camera. It’s slightly larger than the common compact cameras but it can shot some awesome pictures. With that, I brought it to my recent Taiwan trip. I thought It’d be great to collect and share some of my photos online with a photoblog.

In the future, I hope I can make some progress, and if I found that I really love photography, I hope I can afford a DSLR one to take some really amazing pictures to share with you.
From 18 to 25 of this month, that’s starting from tomorrow, I have a trip with my girlfriend to TaiChung. My sister will also come along with us, but the places they will go are a little bit different. Actually, we don’t just go to TaiChung only, but the middle part of Taiwan including TaiChung, ChiaYi and NanTou.
As you may know, I have travelled to Taipei this year in January already. And this is the second time for me to have a trip to Taiwan this year. In fact, what we will go is completely different from the previous trip. Although Taiwan may not be really big, she has a lot of travel spots and will give different feelings for you.
I have actually considered whether I should have this trip or not. Thinking for the future, I think I may not have many chances to go to travel when I start my full-time work, that’s why I think we should travel more when we are studying in university during the long semester break. Otherwise, you may only have time to travel when you become a senior (as seniors always have annual leave from a week to months) in the future.
